In the 1990s everyone always wondered about why Jeff Hornacek’s free throw routine included rubbing the side of his face.
While this weird ritual was the subject of plenty of mockery, it simply was one of the most beautiful and genuine things ever seen on a basketball court.
At the end of his career, he explained:
"It was a way to greet my kids at home and tell them I loved them."
