A real or street fight is not a sport fight - Many who practice various martial arts confuse training exercise or practicing self-defense or sport fight - with street fight. The real truth is that some of the instructors have never actually been in a real street fight. The first thing you need to know about street fighting is the fact that there is no referee and there are no rules of fighting. Many who are good in sports fighting are not so good and effective in a real street fight. Why? I was once asked how I won many street fights. They asked me if it was because of my strength, speed, skill or courage. My answer was that none of that was crucial, something else was important. In a street fight, forget about fair play if you want to win. Athletes are taught certain rules and referees and the application of fair play, in a real fight the one who can completely ignore it wins. You can call such a person a street fighter, a warrior, a skilled fighter, a bouncer, but the correct name is a cursed beast or a bloodthirsty beast. Such people are ready to kill you in order to defend themselves and at the moment of the fight they will not care about you nor will they be interested if mortally injure you. In a street fight, you hit your opponent on the floor as long as he poses a threat to you. After that, either call the police or leave the place in a hurry. Don't give your opponent time to collect himself, arm himself, or call his friends or someone from his company. A street fight will not end like a sports fight, with the distribution of cups, shaking hands and taking pictures, but one of you will be lying on the floor broken and badly beaten. So forget about fair play and try to make sure that you are not the person on the floor. And finally, you will probably soon watch a new movie starring famous UFC fighters, but a movie and a sports fight are not the same as a street fight. Any better bouncer will tell you that no one, absolutely no one, not even a cripple and a weakling, should be allowed to approach you threateningly in a street fight. That person who entered your safe zone after your warning is responsible for the consequences of his reckless action. Ed Parker once said " In martial arts there is no my or your truth, there is only a real fight after which everything will be clear. And that is the basis of martial arts. What would karate master M.Choki say – “there is nothing worse but when your martial arts skills fail at the moment someone attacks you”. At that moment, your athlete title, your belt color or some instructor title will not help you, only your knowledge and abilities. And once again in a street fight, forget about fair play. Hospitals and cemeteries are full of those who followed some rules and fair play in a street fight. In a street fight there is no such thing as dirty technique. Either you stand or you are on the floor - quite clearly.
