Gaod Dragon Boat Team We are OFWs in Qatar who formed the team on November 2014. We want to live a happy and healthy life.

The organization has been running for a year and a half now and has over 50 members – newbies and professionals - join and come along our 2-4 days/week training at the Katara Beach, some for fun and leisure, but most come with commitment to train hard in preparation for international competitions lined up this year. Team members are encouraged to train hard, compete to his / her best ability, respect competitors and simply have fun and be fit and healthy.

A heartfelt thank you for the warm welcome extended to the Gaod Dragon Boat Team at the 14th Korea Open Busan International Dragon Boat Festival, held on August 21–23, 2026. 🇰🇷🐉🚣‍♀️

We are truly grateful for the incredible experience, unforgettable memories, and meaningful camaraderie shared alongside 17 strong and inspiring young paddlers from each team.

Beyond the competition, it was a celebration of friendship, teamwork, and the spirit of dragon boat racing. We look forward to carrying these memories with us and to creating more connections and adventures on and off the water.

From August 21–23, Gaod proudly took part in the 14th Open Busan International Dragon Boat Festival! 🐉🚣‍♀️

What an incredible experience! We gained not only valuable experience and knowledge, but also strengthened our camaraderie and created unforgettable memories. A huge thank you to the organizers for putting together such an amazing event and for giving us the opportunity to meet and compete alongside 17 teams from different parts of the world. Congratulations to all the winners!🌏❤️

To our Busan crew, we are incredibly proud of your dedication, commitment, and passion for the sport. Keep showing up, stay focused, and remain consistent in your training. Most importantly, let’s continue to have fun, support one another, and keep that fire burning! 🔥

WE ARE UNITED wherever we are representing our passion and commitment together as one community in Qatar.

Representing Qatar and the Philippines means carrying two homes with us. We are proud Filipinos, but Qatar is also the country where we train, grow, and build our lives as athletes. So when we compete in Busan, we want to represent both with pride, respect, and excellence. More than winning, we want to show the strength, unity, and determination of Filipino athletes living in Qatar. For us, every paddle is a symbol of unity, perseverance, and pride Filipino at heart, Qatar-based, and proud to compete internationally.

Thank you Coach Anthony Guillermo for your leadership, perseverance, dedication, and experiences that made us who we are today and to all of the Gaod family and old paddlers who are with us in every journey that goes on.

To Qatar Dragon Boat Alliance , we are representing not just GAOD but our community. Whatever happens this is for all of our Dragonboat community in Qatar.

We’ve trained, struggled, sacrificed, and pushed each other to get here, so let’s leave everything on the water and enjoy this moment together. Huwag tayong matakot trust each other, trust our training, and paddle as one.

And to everyone who has supported GAOD, maraming maraming salamat po sa walang sawang support, sa pag-cheer, sa pag-pray, and for believing in us. Hindi lang namin dala ang pangalan ng GAOD sa race na ‘to, dala namin kayo.

Let’s give it our all to GAOD, hoorah hoorah!
