Grand Master Fernando Loio, PhD is a Portuguese martial artist, academic, and one of the pioneers of modern combat sports and Pankration in Europe. He holds the 10th Dan in Pankration, is the Founder of Pankration in Portugal, and the creator of Ultimate Full Contact. He has also been awarded the Coach of the Highest Level in Pankration by the Russian Federation, officially recognized through a passport confirming the title.
He has trained hundreds of champions and participated in nearly one thousand international events as a coach, making a significant contribution to the global development of Martial Arts and Combat Sports. He holds advanced black belts in multiple disciplines and was among the first Black Belts awarded by Grand Master Chung Sun-Yong. He helped introduce and develop Taekwondo, Full Contact, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai in Portugal, and is an expert in Boxing and Submission Grappling.
Since 1988, he has annually organized the WUFC – World Ultimate Full Contact Championship, attracting top athletes from around the world. He has been recognized internationally, including a tribute gala in Iran, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the World Pankration Dan Ranking and WLP, receiving the Red Belt – 10th Dan from Russia.
He has participated in major events across Iran, Ukraine, Sweden, Bulgaria, England, France, Brazil, Denmark, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Scotland, Finland, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, and in Russia in Barnaul, Novosibirsk, Khanty-Mansiysk, Moscow, Makhachkala, Tver, Rostov-on-Don, Saint Petersburg, Ivanovo, Omsk, Krasnodar and Anapa.
