The 29th of July
4th racing day
Yesterday the penultimate competition day was fairly good. Offering optimal weather conditions, which allowed once more to realize 3 races, the same occurred flawlessly and in a spectacular way, offering us a constant change ranking wise, ending with 2 tie teams. Between the 1st 4 teams the difference is only of 3 points!
After 12 races, the classification of the 3first ranked teams of each category is as follows:
Global
1º Michel Sickler and Kristy de Leew – Netherland (42 Points);
2º António Perez and Santiago Moreno – Spain (42 points);
3º Roelof Kuipers and Jelmer Kuipers – Netherland (43 points).
The team of Joaquim Fornelos and Pedro Ferreira (54 points), representing Portugal and Viana’s Sailing Club, obtained a 2nd and two 4th places. As a result, they got closer to the 4 first contestants. The past day the point difference for the 1st position was of 19 points. With today results it diminished to 12.
Juniors
1º Tirso Cerqueira Atares and Gonzalo Martinez Rodriguez – Spain (15 points);
2º Miguel de Jesus Torres and David Fernandez Bouza – Spain (21 points);
3º Mafalda Pires de Lima and Teresa Fonseca – Portugal (42 pontos).
Master
1º Francesco Zampacavallo and Carlos Frances Amenot – Italy (14 points);
2º Graziani Francesco and Golinelli Alessandro – Italy (26 points);
3º Pierre Bourgueiri and Jocelyn le Bayon – France (53 points).
Feminine
1º Alejandra Suarez Gonzalez and Patricia Suarez Gonzalez – Spain (14 points);
2º Mafalda Pires de Lima and Teresa Fonseca – Portugal (20 points);
3º Paula Gonzales Esteban and Carmen Alonso de Castro – Spain (30 points).
Today 30th of July is the last competition day; a decisive day. If the ranking of the first three is almost done in some classification, the global classification is yet to be defined, as the point difference between the 5 first competitors is pretty inconsequent (everything could happen). The strongest, fastest, the best sailors, today dictated the competition final results. We hope that the Portuguese team will be part of them. Good luck to all the Sailors and may the best win!
