it still feels underrated.

I only planned to stay 2 weeks.

No big decision.
No “I’m moving abroad” moment.
Just a short reset.

But something shifted.

It wasn’t just the ocean.
It wasn’t just the weather.

It was the rhythm.

Focused mornings in our coworking space.
Deep work without constant noise.
Dinners with ambitious people who get it.
Conversations that spark new ideas.

Coliving gave me community.
Coworking gave me structure.

And suddenly, everything felt aligned.

Two months later, I’m still here.

Not because I had to stay.
Because I realized how much environment shapes performance.

Most people think they need more discipline.
Often, they just need the right space.

Yesterday our host Lea headed into the mountains
together with guests from Homeoffice Madeira.

Destination: Pico Grande.

Almost 1,000 vertical meters from valley to summit.
Steep, direct, and demanding — a classic Madeiran mountain ascent that rewards consistency more than speed.

What stood out wasn’t the elevation gain,
but the way the team moved:
calm pace, mutual support, solid hiking skills, and real respect for the mountain.

This is what we love to see on a Sunday.
Strong people. Strong teamwork.
And experiences that stay with you longer than the weekend.

Not a hotel. Not a tour. Not a checklist.
Just a house on an Atlantic island… and a group that decided to show up for each other.

In the last days it was hikes, ponchas, dog walks, sunset missions, city nights and a lot of laughing in between.
And yes, January doesn’t always come with perfect weather. But that’s kind of the point:

You can wait for perfect conditions…
or you can create a perfect week anyway.

Thank you to everyone who brought the energy, the respect, the teamwork, and the good vibes.
A place can’t create community. People do.

Thank you for choosing connection, being easy to be around, and making this feel like a home … not a stay.

Five years of Home Office Madeira and this NYE Week felt like the perfect reminder of why we do this.

Two weeks. One house. 18 people. And somehow it didn’t feel crowded or chaotic; it felt like a community. The kind where everyone brings good vibes, looks out for each other, helps without being asked, and turns random evenings into memories.

Last night was the finale: a themed night with a little bit of chaos, a lot of laughter, and that “we’ll talk about this for years” energy.

NYE Week is special for us … it’s for returning guests (or people who’ve already been part of Home Office Madeira once). And I swear, that’s exactly why it works: you don’t just join a trip, you join a vibe.

You can plan the best activities, the best locations, the best schedule but in the end, community is always what the people make of it. And this group made it unforgettable.

Hats off to every single one of you. From strangers to friends…. again.
I’m proud of what we’ve built. But I’m even more proud of the people who bring it to life.

Thank you for being the reward.
