Freeride was founded in 2002 by brother and sister Marta and João Mealha, from Portugal. Both share a passion for all Nature, especially the ocean and the waves! Through surfing they found a way to connect with the ocean in a much deeper way and in 2002 finally decided to start their own Surf School. There’s no better time to start surfing than as a kid!
Learning to surf at a young age helps children develop balance, coordination, confidence and water awareness in a fun and natural way. It also teaches patience, resilience and respect for the ocean—skills that stay with them for life.

Our new Kids Group Lessons are designed to provide a safe, supportive and fun environment where young surfers can learn at their own pace.

✔️ Ages 10–12 ✔️ Max. 4 kids per group ✔️ Extra instructor for maximum safety and individual attention ✔️ Same schedule as our regular group lessons

Whether they’re catching their very first wave or building on previous experience, we’ll make sure they leave the beach with a smile and unforgettable memories. 🌊🤙
