A fun group of leisure runners, we meet fortnightly (Sunday) to follow a trail that can include roads, countryside and coast. Everyone welcome! What is Hashing?

For those of you who don’t know what this is all about, essentially, hashers follow a pre-determined trail (set by two hashers called hares) which is laid out the day before and usually takes the runners through the countryside and towns that surround Porto. It must be stressed however that you do not need to be a star athlete to enjoy hashing, as we have runners of all abilities and a group of wa

lkers. The hash is then followed by a meal (known as the bash) in an eatery local to the hash. There are also away hashes, organized by members of the group that involve a weekend away, either in the Portuguese countryside or even across the border. These are always memorable and not to be missed! All in all, it’s a great Sunday out and anyone wishing to join the group would be more than welcome.

Hash no 646, on Sunday, 3rd May, a joint has with Petaling Hash UK aka P**K and PH3 in the Oporto (Historic Centre) area.

Hard Drive & Snake Sh***er will be setting this Sunday's hash in the Oporto (Historic Centre) area, followed by a bash at Churrasqueira Rotunda da Boavista, Praça de Mouzinho de Albuquerque.

It will be a joint hash with Petaling Hash UK, who will be joining us after a hash in Caminha the day before, set by Cockeyed & Private Jerkin Gherkin.
To give the P**K hashers time to reach Oporto from Caminha, we shall be starting at the exceptionally late time of 11:30am.

Petaling Hash, AKA P**K, is travelling to Portugal from May 1-3 for a joint hash with PH3.

History of P**K

Back in 2003, John McCawley and Larry Chan were missing their old hash in Malaysia, the Petaling Hash. They decided that there were enough repatriated hashers in the UK to organise a get-together. Richmond Park was the chosen venue with a local Chinese restaurant for the On On as per the Malaysian tradition. The name Petaling Hash United Kingdom was chosen with the acronym P**K.

It was decided that a few runs each summer would be arranged, all based on volunteer hares and their various locations. It became apparent that European expats were keen to host runs, so consequently there have been P**K runs in various parts of Europe, including France, the Netherlands, Austria and now Portugal.

This weekend, on May 1-3, P**K is travelling to Portugal. On Friday, May 1, at 5 p.m., the pub crawl will commence at Mio Cafe in Caminha. On Saturday, May 2, at 4 p.m., the P**K run starts at Estadio Municipal Morber, Caminha. On Sunday, May 3, at 11:30 a.m., a joint run with Porto Hash (PH3) will start at Jardins do Palacio de Cristal.

Jingle Bells Jingle Bells Hash No. 642, on Sunday, 14th December

Hello Hashers!

This year's Jingle Bells Hash will be hared by GTA2 (Greg D.) and Chopper (David R.) in the Palácio Cristal area of Oporto and will be followed by a bash at Churrasqueira Domingos, R. do Rosário 329, 700m from the hash start.

The meeting point is:
10:30am: Rua de Entre-Quintas, where there’s usually lots of parking available (map below)

Bowmaster, Bouncy Twins & Boozy Bu**er will be setting this Sunday's hash, which will once again be in the Barroselas area.

The bash will be in the garden of Pica-Pau's house (also the meeting point). Food will be brought from a local Churrasqueira, a variety of dishes. There is a pool for those fancying a swim.
