The level at the Worlds is going up every year. I’m feeling grateful to be here especiallly because it’s just 1 year after my battle against breast cancer - August last year i was doing radiation therapy and this year I’m racing the best amateur athlete in the world.

With that in mind I’m quite proud of my performance today. Did about 20 km with the group and 120 km by myself picking up a few ‘friends’ along the way 🫶🏼🌈🇯🇵⛰️🇧🇷🇩🇰 - was even called an angel 😇 along the way. Which just made my day, along with the words you are very strong by some girls. 😘 yeah and I even got to sprint with a lady from Japan of my age group.

Tomorrow, I race the UCI Gran Fondo World Championship Time Trial in Kyowa. More than 1456 riders from 67 countries registered. This number of nationalities sets a new record in the history of the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships. Proud to be here and represent my 2 nationalities: Denmark on the outside and Brazil on the inside.

🇧🇷 Amanhã, vou disputar um Campeonato Mundial de contrarrelógio em Kyowa. Mais de 1456 ciclistas de 67 países estão inscritos. Esse número de nacionalidades estabelece um novo recorde na história do Campeonato Mundial UCI Gran Fondo. Orgulhosa de estar aqui e de representar as minhas duas nacionalidades: Dinamarca por fora e Brasil por dentro.

What nobody talks about around the World Championships. Sleeping in a bed that isn’t yours. Eating food you are not used to: A routine you built over months, broken by a time zone. Adapting is a skill. It gets trained like any other - and it decides more races than you may think.

🇧🇷 O que ninguém fala sobre antes de um Campeonato Mundial. Dormir em uma cama que não é a sua. Comer uma comida à qual você não está acostumada, em um lugar onde talvez nem consiga ler o cardápio. Ter uma rotina construída ao longo de meses quebrada por causa de um fuso horário. Adaptar-se é uma habilidade. E, como qualquer outra, ela também é treinada e pode decidir mais provas do que você imagina.

Day one in Japan 🇯🇵 Dia 1 no Japão.

Easy recovery ride, getting to know the local area, still on jetlagged. Nothing about today looks like racing but all of it is! 4 days to the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships Time Trial in Kyowa!

🇧🇷 Pedalada leve de recuperação, conhecendo a região e ainda jetlagged. Nada no dia de hoje parece preparação para uma prova mas tudo faz parte dela! 🚴‍♀️ Faltam 4 dias para o Campeonato Mundial UCI Gran Fondo de Contrarrelógio, em Kyowa!

Two 23 kg Bike boxes. +24 hours door to door. One very big dream 🇯🇵 Duas malas de bicicleta de 23 kg. +24 horas, de porta a porta. Um sonho enorme.

Airports, transfers, time zones and hoping everything arrives in one piece. But getting to a World Championship starts long before the airport. It starts with the early mornings, the hard training, the sacrifices, the doubts, the discipline and showing up again and again when nobody is watching. After everything it took to get here, this journey to Japan feels like so much more than getting from A to B.

It’s the next chapter of a dream I’ve been chasing for a long time. Niseko, Hokkaido.

The dream is getting closer 🌈🚴‍♀️ O sonho está cada vez mais perto.
