This Monday, our rider competed with Riso de Cabeção for a place in the Young Lusitano Horses in Dressage project, promoted by — and we’re proud to announce they were successfully accepted!

We look forward to witnessing their journey ahead in the project, full of growth & new experiences.

In today’s session, our rider travelled with the young Quartilho to the academy for another training lesson conducted under his guidance, within the Young Lusitano Horses in Training project.

The work was carried out in a calm and progressive manner, respecting the natural balance of the horse and seeking the harmonious gymnastic development of his body. Particular emphasis was placed on flying changes, to improve straightness, on the development of true impulsion without haste, and on the suppleness of the trot, encouraging freedom of the shoulders and activity of the hindquarters.

Throughout the session, priority was given to lightness in the aids, a soft and steady contact, and the correct transmission of energy through a relaxed back, allowing Quartilho to remain attentive, willing, and mentally at ease. This approach forms the foundation for soundness, longevity, and the future refinement of the Lusitano horse.

Currently in training at our farm, Rodopio is revealing the qualities we value most in the Lusitano horse: intelligence, generosity, balance, and a willing mind. Under experienced guidance, his education progresses day by day, respecting time, tradition, and the individuality of a young horse with a bright future ahead.
