🧤 The mistake is not the problem. The fear of making mistakes is.
In football, a goalkeeper’s mistake is different. It is more visible, harder to hide and often stays in people’s memories for longer.
But that is exactly where one of the biggest lessons from Léo Martins’ session at the Goalkeeping International Congress begins.
Confidence does not come from avoiding mistakes.
It comes from experience.
From repetition.
From making decisions.
And, above all, from having the courage to react.
Training is also about creating situations where mistakes can happen — in a controlled environment — preparing the goalkeeper for what the game actually demands.
Because a goalkeeper does not need to be perfect.
They need the courage to decide. And the ability to move on.
