PARAGLIDING IN THE AZORES | SÃO MIGUEL | OCTOBER

Have you ever heard of São Miguel?

Have you seen those incredible green landscapes, volcanic mountains, crater lakes and dramatic cliffs that look like they belong on another planet?

Now imagine experiencing all of this… from the air.

In October, we’re heading back to São Miguel for another paragliding adventure. We’ll be exploring the island, flying at different spots and enjoying everything this incredible paradise has to offer.

We always say that São Miguel is our own version of Jurassic Park. The only difference is that, instead of dinosaurs, you’ll find cows everywhere.

These images are from our last trip, and watching them again has made us realise one thing: it’s definitely time to go back.

If you’re a paraglider and you’ve never flown in São Miguel, maybe it’s time to discover this island from a completely different perspective.

The Azores are calling

Our Azores Paragliding Trip starts this October, together with , Pilots of all levels are welcome.

Imagine flying through the clouds, surrounded by endless green landscapes and the Atlantic Ocean… then, when the rain arrives, escaping into a warm thermal bath while the island puts on a completely different show.

Because in the Azores, you can experience four seasons in one day.

We’ll fly when the conditions are right, explore the island when they’re not, chase the best weather and simply enjoy being surrounded by a nature that feels almost untouched.

This isn’t just a paragliding trip.

It’s about flying somewhere completely different.
About feeling small in the middle of an incredible landscape.
About the unexpected moments.
About adventure, good company and stories you’ll remember long after you’ve landed.

🥈 O segundo lugar conquistado!

Nesta prova, a maior competição não foi contra os outros pilotos… foi contra mim. Depois de um início difícil, em 27.º lugar, podia ter baixado os braços. Em vez disso, escolhi continuar, aprender com cada voo e dar o meu melhor até ao último dia. Terminar em 2.º lugar sabe ainda melhor quando sabes tudo o que foi preciso superar para lá chegar. Às vezes, a maior vitória é simplesmente não desistir.

A sagrada mijadela antes da descolagem

Quem voa sabe… há tradições que nunca falham.
Antes de vestir o arnês e correr para a descolagem, há sempre aquele último pit stop obrigatório. Faz parte do ritual!

O clube campeão

Mais do que um clube, uma equipa. Pessoas que puxam umas pelas outras, partilham conhecimento, celebram conquistas e ajudam nos dias menos bons. É um orgulho fazer parte deste grupo e contribuir para mais um título

A pergunta que todos fazemos quando corre como não esperamos:

“O que é que estou aqui a fazer?”

Todos os pilotos já fizeram esta pergunta. Depois de um mau voo, de uma decisão errada ou de um dia em que nada parece resultar. Mas é precisamente nesses momentos que mais crescemos. O importante é voltar a descolar no dia seguinte com a mesma vontade.

O cenário que me move até aqui

Montanhas, vales, nuvens e desafios sem fim. Há paisagens bonitas…
e depois há aquelas que nos fazem sentir vivos.
É por estes momentos que continuo a voltar às competições.

As descolagens com equipamento de 40 kg

Porque voar começa muito antes de tirar os pés do chão. Entre asa, arnês, instrumentos e todo o restante equipamento, cada descolagem exige esforço físico, concentração e confiança. Quando finalmente chegamos ao Goal, percebemos que valeu a pena carregar cada quilo.

Há algo de especial em partilhar o céu com quem fala a mesma língua…

Este foi um dos momentos do Campeonato Nacional de Parapente, em Montalegre, a enrolar térmica lado a lado com outros pilotos portugueses. Cada um segue a sua estratégia, mas todos aproveitamos a mesma energia que a natureza nos oferece.

Para quem acompanhou alguns dos meus stories na semana passada, aqui f**a um pequeno vídeo para mostrar um pouco do que é estar lá em cima. A perspetiva é diferente, a sensação é impossível de descrever… só mesmo a voar.

Airplane mode… but literally.

While my phone was left forgotten, I was doing what I love most: flying.

This week I’m competing in the Portuguese Paragliding Championship, taking place in , from July 26 to August 1.
Days full of strategy, weather analysis, decisions,kms in the air… and, hopefully, a few goals!

If you’re nearby, come to Montalegre.
You’ll find a sky full of colorful wings.

And if you can’t make it, follow along! I’ll be sharing daily stories from the competition, the flights, and everything happening throughout the week.

I swear I only went for “a quick flight”…

My wife gave me permission to go flying…
but she also said:

“Don’t forget to pick up the kids.”

The problem?
When I’m in the air, time flies even faster than I do.

So if you ever see me doing a very fast landing… it’s probably not because the weather changed.
It’s because I just remembered I promised I’d be home on time.

Pilots… tell me I’m not the only one!
