Stop following this terrible ACL advice if you want to protect your knees 🛡️
Social media is full of generic ACL rules that miss how elite athletic development actually works. Here are 3 myths you need to stop believing:
1. “Doing “knee” exercises”: Often, knee prevention exercises, lack intensity. Although they might be helpful in some situations (such as early stages of rehabilitations), they lack the required intensity to build stronger tendons, ligaments and muscles around the knees.
2. “Knees should never cave in”: Dynamic knee valgus happens during fast movements out on the pitch. You must build strength to protect the knees and to be able to handle those high-intensity movements.
3. “Lifting weigths is dangerous”: Strength training builds stronger and more resilient muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones, the ultimate armor against ACL tears.
Educate your training, don’t limit it.
