Following Fitness advice these days comes quite close to following the white rabbit into the Wonderland.
Confusing advice from suspicious looking creatures, magic potions and pills, weird trends, clothes you must wear for ultimate performance - and everyone’s promising a shortcut.

But when things don’t go as planned?

"Off with the head."

Tried 3 YouTube workouts, 4 TikTok hacks, and a 6-step morning routine from a shredded influencer - and still not any closer to being a Greek god?
"Off with the head."

Jumped on the newest diet that’s definitely the answer this time?
Still craving snacks at midnight and wondering why you’re tired?
"Off with the head."

Missed one workout and decided the week’s ruined anyway?
Guess it’s time for pizza and guilt.
"Off with the head."

Trained for two weeks and didn't wake up with abs?
Clearly, your genetics are broken.
"Off with the head."

Followed a “hardcore” plan you can’t sustain for more than 5 days?
Must be your willpower, right?
"Off. With. The. Head."

The problem isn’t your body.
It’s the circus in our minds, fueld by what we see out there in the vast wonderland of fitfluencers and cooperations interested in selling us the next magic potion.
It's the noise. The pressure. The perfectionism. The comparison.
That’s where people lose it - literally.

Keep it simple. Keep your head.
No magic. No following every white rabbit that comes along your journey.

What does it actually take? Just structure, sanity, consistency, rest, some proper nutrition and progress that sticks.

And If you need a Guide, I know I have big ears, but I swear I am not a white rabbit.

Today, let's talk about some of the biggest and most wide spread workout myths that are still floating around out there. 🤔

Myth #1:
Cardio and endurance workouts are the only way to burn fat.
NOPE!
There is no question that cardio is great for your heart and can help burn calories, but strength training is just as important when it comes to burning fat and can actually work much faster. Building muscle mass increases your metabolism and therefore your body burns way more calories even when you're having your rest day.

Myth #2:
Lifting weights will definitely make a women bulky and look like the Hulk.
NOPE!
This is a common misconception that you still hear pretty often, but most women simply don't have the amount of testosterone in their bodies to bulk up like men. In fact, lifting weights can actually help women achieve a leaner, more toned physique.

Myth #3:
You can spot-reduce fat.
NOPE!
This one is probably the one most people wish it wouldn't be a myth, but it's just not physical possible to target fat loss to specific areas of your body. The fact that there about a billion YouTube videos that will tell you differently won't change that, sadly 😅.
So instead of doing a million crunches and mess up your lower back while doing that, focus on overall fat loss through a combination of cardio and strength training, as well as a healthy and clean diet.

Myth #4:
More is always better.
NOPE!
Overtraining can actually be detrimental to your progress and how much you can take highly depends on your genetics as well. The average body needs time to rest and recover in order to build strength and endurance. So make sure you're giving your body this time to prevent injuries and give your muscles the time they need to grow.

These are just a few of the myths one encounters almost on a daily base. Let's bust them and show the world how you get strong, fit and healthy in a sustainable way! 💪

What other myths have you encountered on your fitness journey? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️

Hey Fitfam! Sadly, due to sudden relevance because of a hiking accident, I want to talk about the importance of proper healing after an injury before jumping back into your normal workout routine. And I know what I am talking about since I am a workout junkee with a strong tendency to go too hard too early. 💪🤪

When we suffer from an injury, especially If involves damage to the muscles, it's essential to give our bodies time to heal and recover. Because pushing ourselves too hard too soon can lead to further injuries, a longer recovery time, other injures due to an imbalance and setbacks, which can be just as frustrating as it is to wait to get back to fully working out again.

However, that definitely doesn't mean you should stop working out altogether. It's absolutely crucial to maintain some level of physical activity during your recovery, even if it's just light exercise like walking or gentle stretching. Because it will help to improve the blood flow and circulation, it has been proven to reduce inflammation, it prevents muscle atrophy and (and I can not stretch this one enough) it keeps you from going berserk.

The road to recovery is almost always a marathon and almost never a sprint. Don't rush the process, be patient with yourself and most importantly - listen to your body! Keep these tips in mind and you'll be back to your pre-injury fitness level in no time.

And always remember, the best prevention is proper training. 😉

You've seen me doing them a lot, basically all the time. Resistance band workouts. But why did I start doing them? What are the benefits? And why should you do them as well?

Okay, I know I should state now, that I started working out with resistance bands because I read up on their incredible benefits. But that wasn't quite the reason. The actual reason was that I like to tan 😎 and working a full-time office job didn't give me much time for that. So I figured might as well combine my workouts with spending time in the sun. 😂 But I quickly felt the positive effects of working out with the bands and when I started traveling the world, they almost completely replaced the gym and have become my most constant travel companion.

So as promised here are just a few of the positive effects of resistance band workouts:

Increased strength and muscle tone: Resistance bands provide resistance throughout the entire range of motion, which builds muscles and improves overall strength.

Improved flexibility: Resistance bands improve flexibility and range of motion by stretching the muscles and increasing the blood flow.

Joint protection: Resistance bands are low impact and can help to protect your joints from injury, making them a great option for those with joint issues or who are recovering from an injury.

Versatility: Resistance bands come in a variety of resistances and can be used for a wide range of exercises, making them a versatile tool for any workout routine.

So, doesn't matter if you're looking for a way to take your workouts to the next level or for a way to workout outside of a gym, give resistance bands a try! Your body (and your muscles) will thank you. 💪🏋️‍♀️

Let me know in the comments If you have experienced positive effects of working out with bands as well or If you want more information on them and I will dm you. ⬇️

Mo.Fit, the Mo story part III. "You are not alone."

As mentioned before, asking for help is not my strongest suit and I never would have even come up with the idea to ask for a mentor. Good thing they where not as reluctant to take me under their wings. I don't really believe there is such a thing as a self-made whatever. There might be, but buddy you made your life unnecessarily harder. 😅

From the first coach that saw my potential to become a coach myself and helped me to get there (even financially), different fitness trainers that helped me to become the trainer I am today and one really good manager. Mentors had an incredibly positive effect on my personal and professional growth. 🙏

Good mentors provide more then valuable guidance and advice based on their own experiences. They offer you insights on how to navigate tricky situations, avoid common pitfalls, and achieve your goals.

Furthermore mentors gave me and can give you access to resources and opportunities that I definitely wouldn't have had and that you may not have otherwise.

And lastly, and that might be the most important point, having a mentor can be an amazing source of motivation and support when you’re facing challenges. They have been there, they faced similar challenges, they had downs and procrastinated. So, let them help you.

Overall, having a mentor was a game-changer for me when it comes to personal and professional growth. And sometimes just to know that I am not alone.

Have you made some experiences with mentors or are you considering finding one? Let me know in the comments ⬇️

So you are looking for a life coach? You are completely overwhelmed by the sheer number of offers?
It feels a bit like everyone is trying to become a life coach recently and you don't know who to trust?

And even though you are desperately looking for someone who can help you achieve your goals, succeed in your job, boost your confidence, and improve your overall wellbeing you can't decide on someone? Ever considered your, or a fitness trainer in general? 💪😉

Hear me out on this one. Admitted, most people think of fitness trainers solely as experts in exercise and nutrition and wouldn't consider them to coach them in other areas. But the truth is, most of the time they already do. Many fitness trainers have a deep understanding of human psychology, motivation, and goal-setting - all of which are essential skills for any good life coach - which they use to get you to achieve your fitness goals since the dawn of gyms.

In fact, when you work with a good fitness coach or a private trainer, you're not just getting a workout plan - you're getting someone who helps you to develop a healthy mindset, set achievable goals, and stay accountable to your commitments. A great trainer knows how to push you out of your comfort zone, help you overcome obstacles, and celebrate your successes along the way.

When I started my journey as fitness coach it didn't cross my mind to become a life or accountability coach for clients. But over time it naturally developed. I spend a lot of time with my clients and besides doing a killer workout we talk, we share and we get to know each other quite good. And more often than not, the same limiting beliefs that are holding them back from achieving their fitness goals are the the ones holding them back in other areas of life. So obviously I was and I am, happy to tackle them as well.

So if you're looking for someone experienced and passionate to guide you on your personal development journey, consider hiring a fitness trainer as your life coach. You might be surprised at just how much they can help you grow and thrive! 🌟

Mo.Fit, the Mo.Fit Story part II. "Get into the game and out of your head".

Where was I? Right at the bottom and at one of the lowest points of my life. But I am jumping ahead.

With 16 I had been thrown out of 4 schools, I was drinking too much alcohol, surrounded myself with the wrong crowd and was not entirely sure where my journey would end, but back then it didn't seem like it would end well. Call it hyper active, diagnose it as ADHD or think of it as a rebellious phase. It doesn't really matter how you define it, I needed an out and I was terrible (sometimes I still am) in asking for help. So what's the next best thing? Throwing yourself into something. In this case working out like there is no tomorrow.

And what started as a way to get rid of energy and in the beginning was partly just meant to distract me from reality, turned out to be an incredible tool for improving my focus, routine, and mental health. When you're feeling down and at your lowest, it can be hard to almost impossible to break out of negative thought patterns. But exercising helped me shifting my focus and energy towards something positive and productive. Something where I could see, feel and after a good workout smell what I had accomplished.

So by having regular practice times and committing to a routine and training, I was building a sense of structure and discipline that carried over into other areas of my life. Plus, the endorphins and sense of achievement I got from hitting my training goals boosted my mood and self-esteem.

There it was, my out. I finished school and university, I worked in some incredible jobs, I have traveled the world and I still am. Non of this would have been possible without working out.

So lace up your sneakers, grab a resistance band or dumbbell, take your dog for a run, join a gym or a dojo, jump in the pool or shoot Mo.Fit a message 😉 Just make sure to start reaping the benefits of training today! Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a newbie, there's a sport out there for everyone. Let's get MOving and leave negative habits behind! 💪

⠀⠀
I was, without question, a hyper active kid. I couldn't sit still, there was no tree I wouldn't climb, no dare I wouldn't try.
⠀⠀
So it isn't too much of a surprise that I started loving sports from an early age on. Therefore my journey into the world's of sports began young, when I was around five and my father took me to Karate practice for the first time.
⠀⠀
You could think three times per week in the Dojo plus every second day sports in school should be enough to tire out a growing child. It wasn't. I started to play football, table tennis, to vault and I still had more then enough energy to spare.

⠀⠀

Obviously doing some many things meant that I wasn't amazing in any of them. I brought a lot natural abilities, energy for three and a good portion of eagerness to win.
⠀⠀
And that helped me to still be pretty good in everything I did. But I lacked discipline and focus. So over the years I tried all kinds of different sports, mostly Martial Arts though.
⠀⠀
Taekwondo, Capoeira, Wing Tsun just to name a few. But it wasn't until I discovered Muay Thai and Fitness that I started to take training really serious and wanted more then just the next belt or competing okay. And that was mainly for two reasons:
⠀⠀
- I finally had found a coach, without ever looking for one, that saw my potential and helped me to bring it to good use.
- I was in a very bad place in my life and therefore in my head and training was about to become the way out.

⠀⠀

⠀⠀

Hi everyone, my name is Moritz Höhne and I am the founder, creator and head coach of Mo.Fit.

While I was always into sports, mainly Martial Arts, since my father took me to my first Karate training when I was 5, my Fitness journey only really started in my mid twenties.

A bad spin injury and a good physiotherapist lead me to it. And it was a life saver. In the course of my injury I got a bit overweight and quite depressed. I didn't eat healthy, I smoked and had too much alcohol. But I decided to do something about it and Fitness was my way out of it.

Quickly it became my biggest passion and since then I have been dedicated to continuously learn and develop the most effective and efficient ways to increase muscle mass, decrease body fat and get overall fit through training and nutrition for myself and my clients.

And now, with 40 years old, I am fitter than ever.

For me, a healthy lifestyle is much more than lifting weights in the gym. It's about mobility, warming up, eating healthy, resting well, spending time outside and having fun doing it.

If in the gym, outside or at home, I love helping you to achieve your goals for a healthier, fitter and stronger lifestyle.

It's not always easy, sometimes it's even hard and we will face some hurdles along the way, but we will face those together and the results are always worth it.

You will feel better, happier, more confident and look better.
