When relationship challenges keep repeating, the root often lies in an unresolved connection to yourself and (often subtle) childhood wounds.
In our latest blog, Holystica’s signature method shows how reconnecting with your inner world, releasing childhood trauma held in the body, and transforming limiting beliefs creates lasting change.

The most common issue I see in people around me is chronic stress and disconnection from the body.
Nervous systems that lost their ability to distinguish between a real threat and a packed to-do list or a moody boss🤡

That’s when we see anxiety, tension, overwhelm, fatigue, hypervigilance, and a constant feeling of being “on.”
Not to mention the various diseases caused by living in fight or flight.

👉🏾Yin Yoga can be a powerful tool for nervous system regulation, because long, supported holds invite the body into a parasympathetic state — the rest, digest, and restore response.

💥 But here’s what i miss in most Yin classes:

It’s not just about the poses.

It’s about how you guide students through them🪷

It’s the breath.
It’s the awareness.
It’s the relationship to sensation.
It’s the ability to stay present with what arises.

That’s where the somatic work begins.

👁️Inside our 50–100 Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Trainings, you’ll learn:

→ How to understand the nervous system states your students are moving through during practice
→ Trauma-informed language that creates choice, safety, and agency
→ How to recognize activation, overwhelm, or shutdown and respond skillfully
→ The psycho-somatic theory behind poses and sequences
→ How to guide classes with more depth, precision, and safety
→ Fascia Release Techniques for tension- and emotional relief

And most importantly:

You won’t just learn the theory.

🦁You’ll experience it in your own body first.
Because the best facilitators teach from embodiment, not memorization.

If you’re ready to teach Yin Yoga as a practice of nervous system regulation, embodied awareness, and genuine transformation, we’d love to welcome you.

The missing piece isn’t in your books. It’s in your body. ✨

I used to think healing meant understanding my patterns, my past, my wounds.
I could intellectually explain my story, yet my body was still reacting with anxiety, numbness, and hypervigilance.

What changed everything wasn’t learning more… it was learning how to actually be with my body. It was realizing my system wasn’t broken—it was trying to protect me.

Trauma isn’t just a memory; it’s a physiological experience living in our nervous system and fascia.

As Tom Myers notes, our cells need a “Goldilocks” tension environment to function happily. When we trap survival energy inside, our tissues become tight, restricted, and numb.

Talk therapy helps us make sense of our story, but somatic and fascia-based practices complete the processes that words alone cannot reach.

Healing requires embodiment. It requires dropping out of the mind and guiding the nervous system back to safety.

🚀 READY TO GO DEEPER?

If you're ready to move past just "thinking" and offer deep, somatic experiences for yourself and your clients, our upcoming trainings are for you.
We show you practical tools to work with the nervous system in any class and release stored tension in the body.

What changed everything for me wasn’t more information — it was learning to be with my body.
In my new post, I share how slowing down, listening, and working with my nervous system (not against it) led to real regulation and healing.

A short, personal read with practical hope for anyone feeling stuck.

What changed everything for me wasn’t learning more about trauma or mental health. It was learning how to actually be with my body. I had spent years trying to push through discomfort, override my feelings, and force myself to be “better” or “healed.” But the real breakthrough came when I ...

Try this quick somatic micro practice to calm the nervous system and support safe emotional release.:
Breathe in for 4, exhale for 6 while grounding through your feet.
Then, with gentle hands, glide along the fascia of the forearms or neck—slow, soft, and attentive.
Repeat 3–5 times.

This combines a grounding breath with a gentle fascial glide to down-regulate the nervous system and create space for emotions to move.

We teach this method in Holystica School, refined over 15 years to help yoga teachers and therapists bring body-first tools to their clients.

What makes the Holystica Signature Method different?

It's not just Yin Yoga. It's healing on a deeper level.

It's the combination of:
✨ Longer Yin holds & other fascial release techniques
✨ Deep diaphragmatic breathing & sensory awareness
✨ Somatic and intuitive exploration

Together, these three elements create the conditions for transformation on a physical, emotional, and nervous system level.

👇
During longer holds, we may invite students to turn their attention inward—not to disconnect, but to become more present.

Here are some cues that can make your classes more transformative:

✨ "Can you observe the sensations without labeling them as good or bad? Is it tingling, pulling, softening, or warmth?"

At Holystica, we don't teach endurance. We teach mindful presence.

And presence always includes choice.

✨ "If turning inward feels supportive, explore it. If it feels overwhelming, focus on your breath, the sounds around you, or adjust your position."

✨ "There is no prize for going deeper. The practice is about slowly and safely coming home to your body, at your own pace."

This is trauma-informed Yin Yoga: creating space for awareness, agency, and embodied transformation. 🤍

If you're ready to guide deeper experiences, our trainings are for you.

What happens when a student breaks open in your class... and suddenly you’re holding something far deeper than stretching or stillness?

10 years ago, during one of my first Yin classes, a student suddenly moved out of a pose:

Shaking. Eyes filled with fear. Heavy breathing. Confusion.

💥 Something frightening had surfaced for her, and afterwards she came to me for answers and support I didn’t yet have.

That moment i knew, i was not prepared enough by my Yin Teacher Training
👁️

Because Yin can open profound spaces in the body and nervous system — but without the tools to hold those spaces safely, teachers can feel overwhelmed, underprepared, or afraid of doing harm.

I decided to join a psycho-somatic counseling training and during my own intense healing journey i learned all about the nervous system and how unprocessed emotions show up in the body and as patterns.
♥️❤️❤️❤️
