European Middle Distance Triathlon Championships - 2024 🇬🇧✨
Qualifying for the GB age group team was something I had dreamed about for so long! Watching my Dad compete for GB in Quadrathlon when I was younger gave me a taste of how special opportunities in sport can be! I honestly never thought I would be good enough and certainly thought all chances of qualifying were over after I caught long covid in 2020. I didn’t think I would ever gain back my fitness after not being able to exercise for 8 months and then building up very slowly from scratch. With the help of at over the last year I have achieved so much more than I could have dreamed of. Thank you for pushing me, believing in me and helping me believe in myself! Andy often reminds me to look back and see how much you have achieved and not to move my goal posts too quickly. It is so important to reflect, enjoy and be proud of your achievements before setting new goals! ✨
Thank you to the BEST support team out there Adam, Mum and Dad! Standing in the heat all day cheering me on EVERY lap 🤗🥰 couldn’t do it without you all!
Thank you to who I’ve been working with recently to optimise race nutrition and make sure I’m fuelling my body in the best way possible.
Thank you to everyone for their good luck wishes and incredibly kind messages it means the world! 🌍
I was thrilled to cross the finish line so the a time of 5hours 22 mins (1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21.1km run). I stuck to my plan, to go out enjoy it, not get carried away and save some in the tank for next weekend! Mission accomplished 🙌🏼
So this week is about resting, refuelling and reflecting before racing again on Sunday at Luxembourg Ironman 70.3 🇱🇺
Another dream day in the memory bag 🥰🇬🇧✨
