The 2027 CrossFit Games season structure has been released!

Here are a few new details for the 2027 season from the Sport of Fitness podcast today with host Chase Ingraham and guest Adrian Bozman.

The 2027 CrossFit Games season kicks off with the Open, starting Wednesday, Feb. 17. Yes, you read that right. Workouts will be released on Wednesdays this year. 

Registration begins Jan. 7, 2027.

The path to the title of National Champion is changing for the 2027 season. 

CrossFit is adding the National Championships to the licensed event program, running alongside the CrossFit Games season. Athletes progress from the Open to Quarterfinals to a country-specific National Championship event, and the winner from each host country earns the title of National Champion.

If a country does not have a host licensed event, the top athletes from the CrossFit Open or Quarterfinals will be crowned a National Champion.

From “I’m him” to “don’t look at me.” 🤦‍♂️

2026 Fittest Man on Earth James Sprague had a minor mishap during the Handstand Sprint event, when he forgot to hit the buzzer after crossing the finish line.

Jayson Hopper and Austin Hatfield got some good laughs in post event.

But Sprague got the last laugh, winning the 2026 CrossFit Games, taking home his second Fittest on Earth title.
