Traditional Defenses in Jogo do Pau by Escola do Ateneu “Sarilhos”

One of the oldest Jogo do Pau Schools, from the region of Lisbon.
The school of Ateneu Comercial de Lisboa, was a meeting point of the Lisbon’s Masters of Jogo do Pau.

Part of the technique was called the “sarilhos”. Defensive and attack movements that would allow the athelete to practice, movement and staff handle.

Ricardo Moura faced several opponents: António Garcia, Paulo Lopes and Tomás Ferreira. In this video, the athletes demonstrate their skills in 1v3 and 1v2 combat, using the traditional Portuguese martial art Jogo do Pau Português in a dynamic and technical confrontation.
