"It’s a wonderful property and we were extremely well looked after during our time there. The setting just outside Cascais is perfect – we ambled into Cascais, hired bikes, cycled the coast, walked the magnificent beach, immersed ourselves in the spectacular native ecology.
The rooms are spectacular and beautifully over-sized. At The Oitavos you have massive spaces and a beautifully configured guest room with separate spaces for relaxing and sleeping.
The public areas are voluminous, light filled and connected with the surrounding natural setting by floor to ceiling glazing. Partitions and walls have been dispensed with and the bar, restaurant, breakfast and lounge areas are defined by clever contemporary design, maintaining a limitless sense of light and space. Carefully curated contemporary artwork adds a touch of class.
Food, beverage and service were undisputed 5 star level throughout with breakfast deserving special mention. The buffet was a veritable cornucopia of freshly prepared delights, displayed artistically and appetisingly.
I would recommend The Oitavos for highly discerning individuals and groups requiring a hotel experience that’s unique, different, maybe even slightly disruptive. This is a hotel where contemporary architecture and design reign free and natural light is the protagonist. Guest expectations are challenged by non-traditional lay-outs and configurations but The Oitavos delivers uncompromised 5 star service in a fresh, innovative and totally unique way." Thank you for the kind words, Padraic Gilligan
