Left at 7 o’clock for a 45 minute ride to Ajuda where a friend got a van to ride to Peniche... I arrived completely wet from the tough climb up to freaking Ajuda at 100m coming from the riverside at 0m :-(.

Two weeks ago I bought this new board through a friend. I had more or less 1 hour to pick it up at Campo Grande (5km x2) before work started. Car or bike?->BIKE!!
Car is always more uncertain, but here in Lisbon you have to deal with many extra obstacles like parked cars everywhere in the streets, lunch hour traffic (seriously) and traffic lights that are made to stop any flow. So even for this type of bigger objects I prefer taking the bike even though my car was parked in front of my casa.
My summer surf board is a bit wider than usual and that’s why the board doesn’t fit in the bag... Small summer waves are not a problem for me anymore with this machine!
In August I’ll start cycling to the beach again because of the holiday traffic. Driving is a nightmare then, the rest of the year I prefer the car ;-). Especially because the route to the ferry is full of speeding idiotas and of course there are no bike lanes... :-(

Cruising’ down the streets of Rotterdam, we found this DIY workshop and we parked our Bromptons.

Lisbon Airport bike parking!
Right in front of the departures terminal there’s this bike parking facility. With great spots and security camera.
Left my bike here two weeks ago, triple locked including the Brooks saddle. It was a nice ride back home. 17minutes in the saddle is really nice after sitting still for 2.5hours. @ Aeroporto de Lisboa

Foi pouco tempo antes que tínhamos lido na net que modificaram esta rua. Já era a melhor opção para subir até a Avenida de Roma mas era ilegal fazê-lo porque era em contra-mão. Provavelmente fomos impacientes de mais porque ainda não dava para andar na nova ciclovia que apareceu aqui! Então provavelmente foi a última vez que subimos isto de forma ilegal, como antigamente era preciso... Apesar disto estávamos orgulhosos que podemos ser testemunhas desta revolução das bicicletas que hoje está a acontecer em Lisboa!

A hard rain's-a-gonna fall.

I believed that Lisbon was sunny and warm from march onwards but the last two months have been worse than England!
And then next month we'll probably get a sun overdosis for 5 months... some balance could be nicer, weather Gods. Consider it Gods, I just gave you free advice.

Glad the panniers (jargon for bike bags) are waterproof!
But I removed a mudguard some days ago, now I know I shouldn't have

Em teoria em Portugal a regra é 1,5m. Eu sinto que (em Lisboa) está a melhorar bastante mas cada razia é uma a mais.

Caldas da Rainha de bicicleta nesta "chuvosa" ;-).

Com um novo ride. Uma Francesa chamada Gitane. 59cm para gente com mais de 180cm. É um quadro leve, Reynolds 531, ajuda os mais pesados a subir montanhas ;-).
