Should each golfer need their own bag?

The other day, two of our friends, and supporters of the brand, went for a round at a local Algarve course (at probably the least fancy one around).
•
They shared one bag, paid their greenfees, and rented a buggy for their afternoon round. No one was behind them on the tee sheet.
•
The caddy master felt it necessary to call them back, saying: “You need separate bags each.”
•
Just doing his job? Sure. But it’s exactly this kind of outdated thinking that keeps people away from golf. What do you think?

Golf equipment is expensive enough as it is, and the sport is hard enough without adding barriers that serve no real purpose.
