Beginner's Mindset
A beginner's mindset—or shoshin—means approaching situations with curiosity and openness, free from old habits or fixed rules. It helps us drop past assumptions to find fresh ideas and better solutions.
Importance in Creativity:
Removes limits: Old ways of thinking block new ideas. A fresh view lets you see what others miss.
Encourages questions: Asking simple "why" or "what if" questions sparks unique concepts.
Fosters play: Letting go of the need to be right makes the creative process fun and bold.
Importance in Leadership:
Builds adaptability: Markets change fast. Leaders who stay open adapt to new tech and trends.
Improves listening: Admitting you do not know everything helps you value team input.
Creates safety: When a leader shows curiosity instead of judgment, teams feel safe to share bold ideas.
Every time I step on a court I'm working on my Beginner's Mindset. Becoming more creative. Becoming a better Leader. All while becoming healthier and fostering my longevity! 🧠
