LA NUEVA OLA VOL. 2: JASON RIVERA 🌊
Jason Rivera is a young athlete and preacher whose life has been shaped by two great passions: basketball and his faith in God. From an early age, his mother received a prophetic message that he would become a preacher, and at just eight years old, he began his ministry, which he continues to this day. At the same time, he developed a love for basketball at the age of five through the influence of his uncle. His basketball journey included stops with Dragones de Encantada, Pitirres de la Interamericana, the Specialized Sports School of San Juan, Saint Monica School, and later Real Basketball of Caguas. One of the most significant moments of his career came in the summer of 2025 when he represented Puerto Rico at the Euro Youth Basketball Cup in Barcelona, Spain. There, he averaged 17.6 points per game, finished as the tournament’s fourth-leading scorer, and helped his team earn an international runner-up finish.
After graduating from high school, Jason committed to Caribbean University, where he will continue his career as a student-athlete in the LAI while pursuing a degree in General Sciences with the goal of attending Pharmacy School in the future. However, beyond his academic and athletic achievements, Jason believes his greatest purpose is to serve God and share the Gospel.
Convinced that he was called by God from a young age, he strives to use every opportunity, both on and off the court, to positively impact others. His story reflects a unique balance of athletic excellence, academic ambition, and unwavering faith that continues to guide every step of his journey.
