Classic dance lift for beginners & weddings 💍🕊️
This lift looks simple, but the technique matters.
When the follower turns toward the leader, she shouldn’t face him directly. Instead, she rotates into a clean arabesque line, offering the leg behind her — not forward.
The leader catches tightly under the ribs, but never squeezing the ribcage (that’s where injuries happen).
The follower places her hand behind the leader’s neck, stays long through the torso, and connects her weight into his frame.
The lift happens from a shared plié, not from jumping — soft knees, strong timing, and one clean upward action. ✨
