Hi!
I'd like to invite you to look at short photo report for our latest trip at Rena River, Norway.
Unexpectedly, we struggled with a heat what is not usual for this area. More than 30 degrees during the day and at night more than 20.
The water was so warm that on the last day of our stay host decided to close the river. We decided to use this time for sightseeing and we landed in the charming town of Rørøs. A mining town with beautiful wooden houses listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
By the way we had a chance to see how Glomma river look in upper part - it's truly wonderful. We saw a lot of anglers, so we can guess that a lot of fish as well.
Returning to Rena.
As always mysterious, surprising and difficult even for someone who knows it well.
I caught some fish on nymph, but my fiancee quickly reminded me that this is not what we came for and, I didn't discuss with her and changed my rod for dry fly.
Until the end of trip we fished on various kinds of dry flies, mainly at night. Due to the fact that July is the time of hatches of everything what lives here, starting with dipteras, through small mayflies, caddis, ending with large Danicas and stoneflies, we had unlimited possibilities while flipping fly boxes. The most effective was the simplest shuttlecock in size 16, olive and brown colors. We were able to fish a few whitefish, grayling and a few beautiful trout, which I consider as one of the most beautiful of all I had opportunity to fish.
During the forest hikes to the spots we enjoyed the gifts of the forest, blueberries, wild red currants and mushrooms, which were pretty nice.
The week flew quickly. Positively tired, richer in a new experiences we returned, already started to plan next trips. In autumn Montenegro, Lake Plav and surrounding rivers..?
Who knows, who knows..

Last week I had that pleasure to show Ribnik River to Maniek and Piotr 🇵🇱
Guys took very good advantage of my advices given at the beginning and they managed in these conditions very well to caught nice fish.
I don’t think that nymphing on such a small flies will be useful for them anywhere else 😂but for sure it was interesting experience.
Thanks guys for the trust and time spent together in the Balkans 🇧🇦
