Hi everyone,
Some time ago I was talking with Anne and Myriam from Lite Venture about a kayak for younger or lighter paddlers. Yesterday Dan from Headwaters asked me for a recommendation regarding the Mira 485 for a paddler who is around 150 cm tall and weighs about 45 kg.
Today the weather was great, so we came up with the idea of using my son Filip for a quick on-water test. Filip matches Dan’s request pretty well — he weighs 48 kg (106 lbs) and is 155 cm tall (5’1”).
We decided to compare two models built in our factory: the Mira 485 and the Arrow Play LV.
Filip felt comfortable in both kayaks. As a father, if I were paddling with him on big open water, I would probably choose the Arrow Play for him — better thigh contact means better kayak control and maneuverability.
Filip, however, said he felt safer in the Mira. He also preferred the rudder control system.
Take a look at the video and judge for yourselves how they perform.
P.S. Kids don’t work for free in our factory. We pay him in V-Bucks 😂
