The History and Evolution of the Factory in which was produced Europool billiard cloth
In the nineteenth century in the Czech Republic has undergone rapid development of the industry. Foreign businessmen came to this country because it was the easy availability of cheap hydropower, cheap land, cheap labor, and tax incentives. The development of light industry was supported by the state of the Aus
tro-Hungarian, so Swiss businessman Nicholas Vonwiller took an advantage of it and founded around 1833 in Hylváty near the town of Ústí nad Orlicí a cloth factory. At the same time, the owner of Žamberk lands John Parish announced a competition to build a factory for the production of woolen products. The winners were promised the right to use, and download hydropower and interest-free loan of 100,000 dollars. Gallen in Switzerland was selected among all the candidates - whose John Paris knew from the time of the trade on the wholesale market in Hamburg, where he worked with Vonwiller department store in Milan. In 1833 started the construction of the factory and completed in 1834. For the production were responsible three brothers Strasser from Switzerland, who introduced the Swiss method of processing wool. In contrast to local methods the fibers before from the processing was prepared of cow's milk instead of oil. The factory was powered by a water wheel, which was serviced most of the equipment in the plant. Only the preparation for weaving and weaving itself wasn't carried out on using the wheel because they were used by handwheel. In 1854 the founder of the factory Vonwiller Mikuláš died and his factory took over younger son, Emil. Whereas, the older son Oscar opened shopping mall in Milan - which until 1890 was the seat of all family businesses Vonwiller. The management gradually replaced some of directors. Finally, in 1869 Mikuláš oldest grandson Albert Vonwiller took control of the company and together with his brothers Strasser founded a gymnastics club, according to the Swiss model. In October, 1887 there was a division of the company. The factory took over Edmund Pintner coming from the center of wool production - Brno, from the family owners of the factory, "Vaclav Pintner in Brno". Under the influence of Pintnera quality of the fibers produced in Senftenberg has improved so much that was indistinguishable from the best England materials. In 1893, the director Edmund Pintner died and the factory took over his nephew, Edmund Kirsch. The history production of Europool billiard cloth
The beginnings of the production of the cloth were generally in 1991-1992. After 1989, the enthusiasts wanted to start production of billiard tables and therefore they looked for suppliers of raw materials for production - slates (marble), balls, chalks and cloth. In Czechoslovakia were produced at that time a large amount of billiard cloth in several factories. The factories were among others: in Krnov, Opava, Nový Jičíniu. The enthusiasts of billiard were dominated in development of factories trying to produce more and better cloth. It was a top time of wild privatization, individual companies subject to restructuring, some of the factories broke down, and people from both groups were fired . Therefore, the effort to produce cloth were still shifted in time. In 1996-1997 the development center of cloth moved to Orlany in Žamberk, where there has been improvement of the cloth and technology of their production.
