Monika Siatkowska — Poland 🇵🇱
For Monika Siatkowska, free flight is more than a passion — it is part of a story that began in childhood. Growing up surrounded by her father’s passion for flying, she developed a lasting fascination with the sky and eventually found her own place in it. A graduate of the University of Wrocław in English Philology and Journalism, Monika has worked as a lecturer, translator, and journalist while also actively promoting free flight in Poland. She began paragliding in 1991, took up hang gliding in 2013, and continues to expand her experience today by training as a sailplane pilot.
Celebrating Monika’s Contribution to Brave Women Flying Free
Monika, having your story in Brave Women Flying Free adds a very special voice to this international collection. You bring not only decades of experience in the air, but also the perspective of a woman who has witnessed the evolution of free flight and found her place in a world once largely dominated by men.
Thank you for contributing your memories, knowledge, and passion to BWFF. Your story shows other women that they do not need medals or records to make their experiences meaningful. Sometimes the greatest achievement is simply having the courage to begin, learning to live with fear, and discovering what we are capable of along the way.
Congratulations, Monika, for being part of BWFF and for helping other women see free flight not as a distant dream, but as a sport in which they, too, can find their own place in the sky.
