🇧🇪 That’s a wrap for the European Junior Championships Pool in Rome!

A fantastic final day for Team Belgium, highlighted by Bas, who delivered an outstanding swim in the heats of the 100m manikin carry with fins. His time of 45.92 is the new Belgian Record in both the Open and Junior categories! 🔥 Although problems with the manikin in the final meant he finished 6th, this performance shows just how much potential he has. We can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for him!

Ynne reached two B-finals, finishing 2nd in the 100m Manikin Carry with Fins and 3rd in the 200m Super Lifesaver.

Tiane also secured a place in the B-final of the 100m Manikin Carry with Fins, where she finished 8th.

A big thank you to all the family members, friends, teammates and supporters who travelled to Rome or cheered from home. Your support and encouragement meant the world to our athletes! ❤️

With that, the EJC Pool in Rome comes to an end. We’re incredibly proud of everything this team has achieved and are already counting down to the European Junior Championships Beach in Ireland! 🌊☘️

What a fantastic start to the European Junior Lifesaving Pool Championships!🔥

🥉 A huge congratulations to Bas, who claimed the bronze medal in the 200m Obstacle Swim! He also smashed the Belgian Junior Record 100m Rescue Medley not once, but twice. The new time to beat is 1:03.08, earning him an impressive 4th place.

Tiane and Ynne also delivered a strong performance, finishing 4th in the Line Throw.

And Ynne topped the B Final of the 100m Manikin Tow with Fins, finishing in 1st place.

The European Youth Lifesaving Pool Championships have officially begun! Today's opening ceremony marked the start of an exciting week, and we're ready to race. 🔥

Here's our race schedule for the days ahead. We can't wait to see our athletes give it their all in the pool.

Some of you may notice our team is smaller than usual. Unfortunately, not every athlete who earned the opportunity to be here was able to make the trip. We hope the future of our sport will be one where talent and dedication are the only deciding factors.

This year, the European Youth Championships are split into two events: one in the pool and one in open water. From 27–29 July, the best junior pool lifesavers in Europe will compete in Rome, Italy. Belgium will be represented by four talented athletes we have every confidence in.

Two pool days done here in Montpellier! 🏊‍♂️
Amazing performances so far: Matthias showed himself in the B-final manikin carry. Tatiana claimed silver in the Manikin Tow with Fins and bronze in the Rescue Medley 🥈🥉
