The wrecks around Gotland have a reputation for being among the best in the world. Yet only a handful of divers ever get to see them. They’re far away, deep, and anything but easy to reach.

We’d passed nearby a few times before, but this was the first trip made with one goal only. GOTLAND

And honestly? It was everything we hoped for.

Bells, engine telegraphs, steering wheels… preserved as if the time had simply stopped. That’s what wreck diving is all about.

We came back with plenty of stories and, despite diving below 100 meters, here are some photos we’re really happy with.

Ostatnie nasze głębokie nurkowanie na Gotlandii, nie zapowiadało ciekawego i fajnego odkrycia.
Na sonarze widzieliśmy tylko, że na głębokości 102 m mamy duży wrak, który wygląda na mocno zniszczony.
Na dole okazało się, że to całkiem ładny parowiec z pięknym kołem sterowym na rufie oraz dobrze zachowanym mostkiem pelengowym.
Dodatków trafiliśmy na tabliczkę znamionową, która pozwoliła nam w parę minut rozwiązać zagadkę.
„Nasz” ostatni Gotlandzki parowiec to SS Thames
Pozycja jego zatonięcia nie była dokładnie znana. Wiadomo było tylko, że rok po WWII wszedł na zabłąkaną minę w drodze z Finlandii do Danii i z ładunkim celulozy.
Tym razem nie trafiliśmy na dzwon, dziub statku jest wbity mocno w dno poniżej 100m i miejsce gdzie zwyczajowo można natrafić na "serce statku" znajduje się głęboko w mule.
