Regarding recent suspension of Aerodyne Icon containers by few parachute federation: I believe only the German federation took a pragmatic approach by requiring owners to perform the modification that had been known for a long time.
It is worth noting that since 2022, every Icon has been manufactured with a Cutter Pin that complies with the new recommendations.
Demonstrating the container "on the ground" rather than in a configuration worn on a jumper’s back only creates unnecessary confusion and fails to reflect the equipment's actual operating conditions.
If an accident occurred, providing specific details such as the container’s manufacture year, technical condition, components used, and its fit for the jumper, would be crucial for transparency.
Such data would shed real light on the matter instead of fuelling speculation.
Unfortunately, investigations often involve unqualified observers drawing sprightly to conclusions that aren't always supported by facts.
A reliable analysis requires breaking down every element to its core.
With millions of jumps performed with these containers (statistically, one reserve deployment occurs approximately every 500 jumps), the comparative scale is enormous, and it is from this data that conclusions should be drawn until final jujment based on facts will be implemented.
