Pakistan to Host the 14th South Asian Games in March 2027
Pakistan will host the 14th South Asian Games in March 2027, marking the country's return as host of the region's premier multi-sport event.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved Rs. 11 billion in funding to support the successful organization of the Games. The event is expected to bring together athletes from the seven member nations of the South Asian Games: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
The South Asian Games are aimed at promoting sporting excellence, regional cooperation, and friendship among the participating nations. Pakistan's hosting of the 2027 edition is expected to provide a major boost to the country's sports infrastructure and strengthen its position as a destination for international sporting events.
