Jashn-e-Azadi Inter-Club Tennis Championship Concludes

Peshawar — KP Tennis Association

The Jashn-e-Azadi Inter-Club Tennis Championship concluded successfully in Peshawar with the participation of 16 teams from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The participating teams represented some of the legendary names and notable figures in the history of KP tennis.

Semi-Finals

* Haji Malik Umar Khan Club defeated Haji Kachkool Khan Club by 2–0.
* Shayan Afridi defeated Ahmad Ahsan 6–1, 6–2.
* Abdul Rehman Afridi defeated Riyan 6–1, 6–2.
* Inayat Club defeated Haji Kachkool Khan Club.
* Hamza defeated Ahmad 6–4, 7–5.
* Arsalan defeated Dawood 6–3, 6–4.

Final

* Haji Umar Khan Club defeated Inayat Club to claim the championship.
* Shayan Afridi defeated Hamza 6–1, 6–2.
* Abdul Rehman Afridi defeated Arsalan 6–3, 6–3.

Wheelchair Women’s Final

Taj Mena defeated Mawa 6–1, 6–2.

Under-14 Doubles Final

Haroon and Ahsan defeated Ibrahim and Abdullah 7–5, 6–4.

Prize Distribution

Prize money was awarded to the winners and runners-up:

* Winner: Rs. 8,000
* Runner-up: Rs. 6,000

Medals and certificates were also distributed among the winning and runner-up players.

The Chief Guest, Deputy Director KP Sports Kashif Farhan, and Chief Coach Sports Directorate Shafqat Ullah Khan, attended the closing ceremony and distributed prizes, medals, and certificates among the players.

Also present on the occasion were SVP KP Tennis Association Umar Ayaz Khalil, Coach Zakir, Israr, Noman, Jawad, and Shahid.

The KP Tennis Association congratulates all participating players, teams, coaches, officials, and organizers for contributing to the successful conclusion of the championship and promoting tennis across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

SVP Malik Umar Ayaz Khalil Holds Key Meetings to Promote Tennis

Senior Vice President of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association, Malik Umar Ayaz Khalil, met with the newly appointed Regional Sports Officer, Ahmad Zaman, to congratulate him on his appointment. During the meeting, he presented a floral garland and discussed the promotion of tennis, upcoming tournaments, and greater opportunities for young players. The meeting was attended by Inam Ullah, Ebad Ullah, and Tennis Coach Zakir Ullah.

Regional Sports Officer Ahmad Zaman assured the KP Tennis Association of his full support and commitment to the development of tennis across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Later, Malik Umar Ayaz Khalil met with Chairman SMBR Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Executive Senior Vice President, Zahir Shah. The meeting focused on the current state of tennis in the province and strategies to further strengthen and promote the sport. Zahir Shah reaffirmed his full support for the KP Tennis Association and its mission to develop tennis throughout the province.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association Conducting Junior Summer Tennis Camp

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association is successfully conducting its Junior Summer Tennis Camp at the Peshawar Sports Complex from 10 June to 20 August 2026. The camp aims to nurture young tennis talent by providing professional coaching, technical development, and structured training in a positive learning environment.

The training program is being conducted under the supervision of Pakistan Davis Cup player and internationally recognized tennis coach Inam Gul, alongside Senior Vice President of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association, Umar Ayaz Khalil, with the support of Coach Zakir and Coach Roman.

Training Schedule

* Morning Session: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM
* Evening Session: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Participating Junior Players

Riyan, Salar, Shehryar, Danyal, Faizan, Summer Gul, Abdullah, Hassan, Shehzad, Ahmad, Musa, Ahyan, Dawood, and Maaz.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association remains committed to promoting tennis at the grassroots level by providing quality coaching, fostering discipline and sportsmanship, and creating opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills and represent the province and Pakistan at national and international levels.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junior Tennis Team Shines at Bank of Punjab National Junior Tennis Championship 2026
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association is pleased to announce the outstanding performance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junior Tennis Team at the Bank of Punjab National Junior Tennis Championship 2026, held from 14–18 June 2026 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contingent delivered an exceptional performance, securing a total of six medals, including three Gold Medals and three Silver Medals, reflecting the province’s growing prominence and continued progress in junior tennis.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tennis Association expresses its sincere appreciation to Mr. Taj Muhammad Khan Tarang, Advisor to the Chief Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Mr. Tasfeen Haider, Director General Sports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for their continued support and commitment towards the promotion and development of tennis in the province.

In recognition of his remarkable achievements, Muhammad Shoaib Khan, winner of the ITF Futures International Tennis Championship 2026 held in Islamabad, was awarded a cash prize of PKR 400,000. Shoaib Khan also secured Gold and Silver medals through his outstanding performances, bringing great pride to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan. The award was presented by Mr. Taj Muhammad Khan Tarang and Mr. Tasfeen Haider in acknowledgment of his exceptional contribution to international tennis.

Furthermore, Faizan Afridi was awarded PKR 100,000 in recognition of his impressive performance at the South Asian Junior Tennis Championship, where he earned a Silver Medal. This award reflects the Sports Directorate’s commitment to encouraging and supporting talented young athletes.

In addition, an amount of PKR 100,000 was awarded to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa junior players for their outstanding performances at the Sahiwal National Junior Tennis Championship 2026. The players recognized were:
