Babar Azam's resignation as Pakistan's white-ball captain has sparked widespread discussions on social media regarding his potential successor in both ODI and T20 formats. While many consider Super Rizu to be the automatic choice for the ODI captaincy due to his experience, leadership skills, and consistent performance, but the T20 captaincy remains a topic of debate. Players like Shaheen Afridi, Rizwan, and Shadab Khan have been mentioned as strong contenders for the role. However, I believe that young Muhammad Haris should be given the opportunity to lead the T20 side.
Haris represents the aggressive, fearless style of modern-day cricket that Pakistan needs to embrace. His fresh mindset and dynamic approach can inject new energy into the team, moving away from traditional methods and adapting to the fast-paced, evolving nature of T20 cricket. Haris's bold style of play embodies the innovation and aggression required to succeed at the highest level, and he has the potential to transform Pakistan’s approach to the shortest format of the game. For Pakistan to truly evolve and compete globally in T20 cricket, a leader like Haris, who is in tune with contemporary cricket strategies, is essential.
