🏛️ 8 Fascinating Facts About Dharmarajika Stupa — Taxila, Pakistan 🇵🇰
Hidden among the ancient ruins of Taxila lies the magnificent Dharmarajika Stupa, one of the most important Buddhist archaeological sites in Pakistan. 🏺✨
Dating back to the 3rd century BCE, the site is traditionally associated with Emperor Ashoka and is believed to have been an important center for Buddhist worship and pilgrimage. The stupa is also connected with the enshrinement of Buddhist relics, adding greatly to its religious and historical importance.
From its distinctive circular design and surrounding smaller stupas to the monastery and archaeological discoveries found across the complex, Dharmarajika gives us a fascinating glimpse into the ancient civilization of Taxila.

Dharmarajika is part of the Taxila archaeological complex, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980. It represents centuries of cultural exchange, religious history, architecture, and craftsmanship in the ancient region of Gandhara.
