Punjab Crowned Champions After Thrilling Final Against AJK
The 5th National Women’s Blind Cricket Championship 2026 concluded on a high note in Islamabad, marking the end of an inspiring and highly competitive tournament.
In a gripping final, Punjab emerged victorious against AJK, showcasing remarkable resilience, skill and determination.

Batting first, AJK posted a formidable 213/5 in 20 overs, led by: Shumaila Kiran 62 (39) and Armeen Tariq 34 (24)
For Punjab, Maryum Amir claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Punjab mounted a strong chase. However, rain interrupted play and the result was decided under the DLS method. At the time of interruption, Punjab were 183/6 in 17.2 overs, securing victory by 4 wickets.
Rimsha Shabir starred with a superb 72 (35)
Nisha Bax contributed 25 (15). For AJK, Shumaila Kiran took 2 wickets, while Armeen Tariq picked up 1 wicket

This remarkable event was made possible with the support of the Australian High Commission in Pakistan and Serena Hotel, whose contributions continue to promote and uplift inclusive sports in Pakistan.

Match 5: Islamabad vs Gilgit-Baltistan
Venue: Bhutto Cricket Ground, Islamabad
Islamabad won the toss and elected to bowl first. Gilgit-Baltistan posted an impressive 212/2 in 20 overs, powered by brilliant innings from Hira (61 off 69) and Nusrat Batool (53 off 57).
In response, Islamabad fought hard but fell short, scoring 202/4 in their 20 overs. Nimra Rafiq led the chase with a brilliant 72 off 63 balls, while Khadija and Hooria claimed one wicket each.
Result: Gilgit-Baltistan won by 10 runs

Match 6: Punjab vs AJK
Venue: Bhutto Cricket Ground, Islamabad
AJK opted to bat first after winning the toss, posting a competitive 170/5 in 20 overs. Noor (50 off 30) and Saleha (34 off 40) anchored the innings with key contributions.
Punjab responded confidently, chasing down the target in 17.5 overs with 5 wickets in hand. Maryam Jahangir delivered a match-winning performance with 68 off 49 balls, supported by Maryum Amir (25 off 26). Armeen and Sumera took one wicket each for AJK.
Result: Punjab won by 5 wickets

Match 3: Islamabad vs AJK
Venue: Bhutto Cricket Ground, Islamabad

Islamabad won the toss and elected to bowl first. AJK posted a massive total of 203/3 in 20 overs, led by outstanding performances from Noor Sabir (70 off 56) and Armeen Tariq (41 off 39).

In reply, Islamabad managed 156/6 in their 20 overs. Nimra Rafiq top-scored with an unbeaten 60 off 58 balls. Armeen Tariq delivered an impressive all-round performance, claiming 2 wickets, while Mehwish and Sumera took one wicket each.

Result: AJK won by 47 runs

Match 4: Punjab vs Gilgit-Baltistan

Venue: Bhutto Cricket Ground, Islamabad

Gilgit-Baltistan won the toss and chose to bat first, posting a competitive 166/3 in 20 overs. Hooria Malik (67 off 65) and Nusrat Batool (37 off 38) played key roles in building the total.

In response, Punjab successfully chased the target in 15.1 overs, losing 4 wickets. Maryam Jahangir starred with 45 off 34 balls, well supported by Maryum Amir (31 off 32). For Gilgit-Baltistan, Tayyaba and Hira picked up one wicket each.

Match 1: Gilgit-Baltistan vs AJK
Venue: Bhutto Cricket Ground, Islamabad

Gilgit-Baltistan won the toss and elected to bowl. AJK posted a strong total of 177/9 in 20 overs, with Armeen Tariq (43 off 32) and Shumaila Kiran (18 off 11) leading the charge. Hifza Shaheen picked up 2 wickets for Gilgit-Baltistan.

In reply, Gilgit-Baltistan managed 146/8 in 20 overs. Hira top-scored with 43 off 41 balls. Armeen delivered an all-round performance, taking 2 wickets, while Noor and Sumera claimed one wicket each.

Result: AJK won by 31 runs

Match 2: Punjab vs Islamabad
Venue: Bhutto Cricket Ground, Islamabad

Punjab won the toss and chose to field first. Islamabad posted a competitive 178/5, thanks to impressive innings by Nimra (61 off 59) and Emaan (50 off 41). Nisha and Maryum Amir picked up one wicket each.

In response, Punjab successfully chased the target in 18 overs, losing 6 wickets. Nisha Bax starred with a brilliant 71 off 62 balls, well supported by Maryum Jahangir (20 off 16). Islamabad’s bowlers Esha, Momina, and Meerab took one wicket each.

The 5th National Women Blind Cricket Championship & Training Camp has officially commenced at Bhutto Cricket Ground, Islamabad.
A total of 56 talented women blind cricketers from across Pakistan are participating with passion, determination and competitive spirit.
Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman, Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC), visited the venue, interacted with the players and extended his best wishes for a successful tournament.
The event will continue until 30th April 2026 and is being organized with the generous financial support of the Australian High Commission in Pakistan.
