Asian Games and Universiade postponed as China continues to deal with COVID-19. Organizers postpone a pair of multi-sport competitions in China, citing concerns over the continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new dates of the 2022 Asian Games were not revealed by the OCA. Instead a statement from the organization read, “the new dates of the 19th Asian Games will be agreed between the OCA, the COC and the HAGOC and announced in the near future.” No timeframe was provided for the decision.
