Diya FC

Diya FC Diya WFC is the first women football club in Pakistan founded by Sadia Shiekh in 2002 and registered Diya has recently developed its Youth Team as well.

The establishment would not be possible without the complete support and excellent administration of Durdana Faisal. The main idea was to popularise the game of football among girls of Karachi who had not recieved any exposure in the football world and to give full freedom to be able to play at national and international level. Achievements of Diya FC :

- Hajra Khan became VC of Pakistan Football

team.
- Silver medal at National Women's football Championship 2011.
- Diya Soccer Tournament 2003 & 2005.
- Diya Futsal Tournament for boys and girls Feb 2007.
- Diya WFC is the 1st Women International Club that toured Sri Lanka in July '07
and Malaysia in Dec '07.
- Nadia Siraj & Marium Leghari with Sadia Sheikh as Assistant Coach went to their
first International Tournament as Team Pakistan in May '06 to Jordan.
- Won Trophy and stood 3rd place in the 3rd National Women Football
Championship in Aug '07 beating Afghanistan 2-0. Marium Leghari was awarded the Best Player Of The Tournament.
- Won 2nd Position at LUMS All Pakistan Women Football Championship in '08.
- Won 1st Position at LUMS All Pakistan Women Futsal Championship in March '10.
- 2nd Position in First Women Inter-club organized by PFF, July 18th 2008.
- Has Three female D License coaches and One C license coach.
- Mehwish Khan of Diya FC was sent to Sri Lanka in 2010 to attend a coaching
course.
- Hajra Khan selected from DWFC for SAFF Games in Banglades in Jan 2010.
- Hajra Khan, Marium Leghari & Mehwish Khan got selected for SAFF Championship
in Dec 2010.
- Sadia Sheikh Founder & Coach of DWFC attender FIFA FUTURO-III Administrator
& Management Course, 10th-15th November 2010.
- BBC made a documentary on DWFC in the year 2005.
- In July '07 German Soccer Coach Monika Stab gave a 5-day training camp to Diya
FC & girls of Sindh. Girls from poor families are looked after by DWFC to fulfill their education, medical and transport alongside football. Ground Training and Schedules :
Community Ground Behind South City Hospital Wednesday,Friday and Saturday from 4 to 5:30 pm. Anyone interested in joining can report the ground at the given day and time above.
