A former plumber has won a prestigious body building competition beating 40 of the best men’s physiques on the planet to be crowned best body in the world.

Ryan Terry took part Arnold Classic men’s physique competition and was presented with his prize by film star and former professional bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger from whom the competition takes it's name.

Ryan, 28, who has been training since he was 15, said: “It was a dream come true to me to meet Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"He has been a role model for me growing up so to shake his hand was a moment in my life that I will never forget and a highlight of my sporting career so far....

"To win one of the most prestigious bodybuilding shows in the world is an unbelievable feeling and one that will not sink in for a while.

"I was against 40 of the best men's physique pros in the world and to come away with that first place was breathtaking."

Ryan, from Worksop, Notts, was struck by the body building bug aged 13 whilst waiting for his mum one day at the gym.
