RUN FOR KARACHI – 23
HEALTHY KARACHI

Pakistan Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) is organizing a Road Race (RUN FOR KARACHI – 23) on 23 March 2017 in Karachi to commemorate the Lahore Resolution of 23 March 1940. Theme for the Road Race is “HEALTHY KARACHI”. Healthy body Healthy mind is the message to the Youth of Karachi. It is likely to be participated by 1000’s of Youth from Schools, Colleges, Universities and Professional Athletics from the Departments.
It is planned on Sea View, start and finish points will be Macdonalds/Burger King. These races will be participated by the Youth to include 7 km (Professional), 5 km (open) and 1 km (under 16). Food and drink stalls will be the added attraction of the event.
Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh, Hon’ble Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Maher has consented to grace the occasion as Chief Guest.
AFP Organises Marathon/Road Races all over Pakistan on National Days along with National Athletics every year. Luckily AFP has decided to grace Karachi by holding the 48th National Athletics Championship (Men and Women) 2017 in Karachi (7 to 9 April 2017).
Programme will unfold as follows:
Start/finish Point – Burger King/Macdonald.
Route – Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue, DHA Phase VIII.
Events:
7 km (Professionals).
5 km (Open)
1 km (under 14 years)
Registration starts at 07:00 AM.
Event starts at 07:45 AM.
Prize distribution – 10:00 AM.
Organisers – Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP).
Sponsors – Iqra University.
Chief Guest – Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs Hon’ble Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Maher, Government of Sindh.
