Karachi United

Karachi United The home of Karachi United!
🔴⚫⚽ Karachi United is the only sports for development organisation in Pakistan.

Established in 1996, we started out as a football club and branched out into community development working with the most marginalised communities in Karachi. We want to extend the benefits of development through sports to everyone across social and ethnic boundaries and focus on not just developing good players but also upstanding members and future leaders of our community.

One of our key attacking principles is to overload one side to free up the other.

In the first clip, we switch play to the left winger who holds the ball until support arrives. As the opposition shifts across, the far-side full back becomes the free player and attacks the space with an early cross to finish the action.

Our players have the freedom to interchange positions; here, the winger moves inside, which opens the flank for the overlapping full back. This gives us variety in our attacking play.

In the second clip, we apply the same principle differently. We keep the ball on the right side longer before finding the free left back on the opposite side. Although the goal was not scored, the principle remains the same.

A few of our in possession principles/sub principles are as follows:

1) We want positional fluidity with players occupying different spaces constantly to create new pictures and different problems for the opposition
In these sequences:
* Tufail (24) drops from the left wing into deeper central areas to help progression
* The winger holds width while the full-back underlaps
* In the second clip, the rotations happen differently; same principle, different occupation of space
2) Attack depth whenever there is time and space on the ball; underlaps, overlaps & runs in behind
3) Arrive in the box with energy and intensity

Both clips showcase different movements, but the overall idea/objectives remain the same; to arrive in the box with energy and intensity.

One of our key in-possession principles is to invite pressure from the opposition in order to create artificial transition scenarios and exploit the spaces that emerge.

3-4-3 diamond build-up vs. a 4-3-3 press:
➡️ Manipulate the first line by driving forward while retaining possession
➡️ Create space to free one of the midfielders
➡️ Drive the ball forward to disrupt the opposition’s man-marking structure
➡️ Attack the space behind with a speed up
