Anyone and everyone, it is privilege for us to welcome you to Space Hawks, the official sports society of Institute of Space Technology.


>>Background and History:

Currently the major sporting events our institute participates in are the HEC tournaments. But th

ere many intra-institute sports held between the 5 departments, each department striving to write history every year.


>>>Description:
>>Inter-Departmental Sports(MALE/FEMALE):

The Space hawks will promote and organize inter-departmental sports. Every year these sports and games are held and with great enthusiasm they are competed. But lately there is seen an alarming decline in interest in the departmental sports and we intend to correct it. Basketball
4. Volleyball
5. Table tennis
6. Lawn tennis
7. Badminton
8. Athletics
10. Tug-of-war (the pride and joy)
11. Marathon (the most grueling fun)

Competing in these events and performing well will lead you to medals. Yes medals!!! The best 3 in every sport are awarded medals at the end of the year.

Besides these events the sport society will organize other sporting events such as
1. Super-sixes
2. Futsal
3. Hoop-it-up
Many more ideas will be seriously enteratained regardless of who you are. So start scratching your noggin.



>>Further Plans:

Well for far too long sports has been treated like a third wheel and that is why we are here to change it. We intend, no shall, no will promote sports in the Institute of every kind, indoor or outdoor, heck we may even promote sports like Ludo just to make life at the campus more fun and exciting. We want IST to become a regular competitor in other universities so that we can shine in areas other than academics.

IST sealed a dominant 68-run win in the HEC Cricket Championship against Capital University (CUST) on Feb 13, 2026.
Tomorrow IST will play it's second match against Air University at COMSATS, Isb.

Please join us in celebrating the outstanding achievements of Maheen Qasim Azeemi, a brilliant Aerospace Engineering student from the Class of 2025! Maheen has exemplified excellence across the board, solidifying her status as a truly well-rounded individual.
Her athletic career is nothing short of stellar. Serving as Captain of both the Badminton and Tug of War teams, she led by example, securing a historic three-peat of Gold Medals in Badminton ('22-'25) and winning Bronze Medals in Table Tennis. This phenomenal four-year performance was rightfully honored with the Gold Medal for Best Sports Woman.
Further showcasing her versatility, Maheen was awarded the Best All-Round Performance prize for her consistent excellence in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities over four years.
Adding to these accomplishments, she is also a finalist for her Final Year Project (FYP) at Space Frontier Pakistan, highlighting her deep passion and commitment to her field.
We are incredibly proud of your journey and can't wait to see you reach for the stars,Maheen!
