SL needed 55 from 42 with 5 wickets in hand. A top team wouldn't have lost this from here 8/10 times.

Pakistan bowlers hold their nerves well under pressure but SL also played very poor cricket. Against top teams, it won't be this simple for Pakistan from these situations.

Anyways, a 37 run win & solid start to the series. Next up will be a real test against England.

Exquisite opening spell from Naseem. Pace was up in 140s, generated a lot of swing and troubled the batters. If only he can improve the accuracy more, he will be lethal in South Africa. Still don't know why they sidelined him from Tests. Also remained out of overall setup after that tweet in PSL.

Nonetheless, really enjoyed that spell.

This one ball rule after 34 overs has put life into ODI cricket tbh. The game changes drastically when that one old ball comes into play and reverse swing happens.

Pakistan were all set to get to 330 at one stage but excellent last 10 overs from SL with the ball means we have ended 20-25 short of what would have been an ideal total on this wicket. Still some sensible batting from Shaheen in last couple of overs to put runs past 300.

Should be an interesting chase.

While in Port Elizabeth now, it's a juicy greenish surface with overcast conditions & Aussies are playing Starc, Hazelwood, Cummins, Boland & Webster together.

Absolute nightmare for batters out there ☠️

Removed from T20I captaincy (It was good though), axed from Test side after few failures only, never complained, went back to domestic red ball, scored big runs there, gained confidence and here back doing what he does best in longer formats.

100 on 82 balls for Salman Agha, the team man. Clutch innings really 👏🏻 ❣️

Since the start of 2024, Agha has scored most runs for Pakistan in this format at the best Strike Rate as well. He's clearly your MVP of Test and ODI side. T20 was never his game and he was made captain of that format in this country 😆

Sad that how he was axed from the Test side in the middle of England tour after failing in a few innings after such a long period of success. Still he went to domestic after that & scored big runs to gain confidence. He's a brilliant team player.

Saad actually played really well. He is someone who has come through a proper system & grind. And it was evident from his batting too. Rush of blood has cost him his wicket. Otherwise it was an impressive innings.

I reckon he is a better option than Ghazi. And should be invested in more ahead of World Cup as Rizwan is sidelined.
