NEWS | Chico Football Club is set to represent Zamboanga City as it travels to Dipolog City for the 113th Adlaw sa Dipolog 8v8 Football Festival, scheduled on June 27-28, 2026, where teams from across the region will battle for honors in one of Northern Mindanao's annual football celebrations.

The tournament forms part of the city's Adlaw sa Dipolog festivities and is expected to draw a competitive field, giving participating clubs an opportunity to test themselves against quality opposition while strengthening ties within the regional football community.

Leading the delegation is Jokko Concepcion, Deputy for Competitions of the ZAMBASULTA Regional Football Association (RFA), whose presence underscores the association's commitment to supporting clubs competing beyond Zamboanga Peninsula.

The trip was made possible through the generous support of Barangay Baliwasan, headed by Chairwoman Ma. Jamiely Czarina N. Cabato, whose backing enabled the club to make the journey to Dipolog. The assistance reflects the barangay's continued commitment to empowering local athletes and creating opportunities for them to compete on a bigger stage.

Club officials expressed their gratitude to Barangay Baliwasan for believing in the team's potential and recognizing the value of grassroots football in shaping young athletes and fostering community pride.

For Chico Football Club, the tournament presents more than just a chance to compete. It offers valuable experience against unfamiliar opponents, an opportunity to showcase the talent emerging from Zamboanga City, and another step in the club's mission of raising the standard of local football.

With preparations complete, Chico FC heads to Dipolog carrying not only the ambition of achieving positive results but also the pride of representing Zamboanga City and the growing football community of the Zamboanga Peninsula.

As the 113th Adlaw sa Dipolog Football Festival kicks off this weekend, Chico Football Club hopes to leave its mark while continuing to build relationships that strengthen football across the region.

NEWS | The much-anticipated start of the second round of the Rotary Cup has been rescheduled from this Sunday to July 5, 2026, following the participation of several match officials and players in an out-of-town football event in Dipolog City.

The adjustment was officially announced by the ZUCOFA, the governing body overseeing the competition, after consultations with participating teams and tournament officials. The decision aims to ensure the availability of key match personnel and players who are set to travel for the football event in Dipolog.

Several reports indicate that a number of Rotary Cup players are expected to take part in the out-of-town competition, prompting concerns over player availability for the scheduled fixtures.

The postponed matchday was set to mark the beginning of the tournament's second round, featuring two crucial encounters. In the opening match, the UZ Wildcats were scheduled to face the Pilar College Knights, while the second fixture would have seen a highly anticipated rematch between the Ateneo Blue Eagles and the ZPPSU Lions.

The Ateneo-ZPPSU showdown carries added significance after their thrilling first-round meeting, while both UZ and Pilar College continue their battle for valuable points as the race for the knockout stages intensifies.

According to ZUCOFA officials, moving the fixtures to July 5 was deemed the most practical solution to maintain the integrity of the competition and ensure that teams can field their strongest available lineups.
