Dolphins FC Survives a Scare to Defeat Undermanned RDM-ZUFC 5-2

Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex – Dolphins FC faced an unexpected challenge but ultimately emerged victorious, defeating an undermanned RDM-ZUFC 5-2 in a match that nearly saw an upset.

RDM-ZUFC shocked Dolphins FC just moments after kickoff, taking the lead in the 1st minute. Andalajao pounced on a defensive error to score, putting the underdogs ahead and sending a wave of disbelief through the Dolphins' camp. Despite missing key players due to injuries and availability issues, RDM-ZUFC showed grit and determination, and their aggressive play kept the visitors on their toes.

As Dolphins FC sought to regain control, they found their equalizer in the 32nd minute through Erasga, whose clinical finish brought the score level. But RDM-ZUFC wasn’t done yet. Just before halftime, Andalajao struck again, this time sneaking in a cheeky goal in the 44th minute that sent the hosts into the break with a surprising 2-1 lead.

The second half saw Dolphins FC respond with increased intensity, and they were rewarded when Capin converted a penalty in the 52nd minute to bring the match level once more. Just minutes later, RDM-ZUFC's fortunes took a turn for the worse when George Guerrero was sent off for a reckless tackle from behind, leading to another penalty. Capin stepped up again in the 56th minute and confidently slotted the ball home, giving Dolphins FC the lead for the first time.

With RDM-ZUFC down to ten men, Dolphins FC capitalized on their advantage. Bella added a fourth goal in the 78th minute, further stretching the visitors' lead. Despite their valiant effort, the depleted RDM-ZUFC squad couldn’t keep up the fight. Bandejas put the finishing touch on Dolphins FC’s comeback, scoring in the 87th minute to secure a hard-fought 5-2 victory.

Dolphins FC’s win keeps them on track in the league standings, but they were pushed to the limit by an RDM-ZUFC side that showed incredible spirit despite their disadvantages. The match highlighted the unpredictability of football, where even the most undermanned teams can produce moments of brilliance and come close to causing an upset.

In a tightly contested match that lived up to its billing, Alia FC edged Dolphins FC 3-2 in the Zamboanga Football League Masters Division, reaffirming the intensity of their rivalry.

The match began with a moment of brilliance from Alia FC. In the 10th minute, Junty Castillo struck from beyond the penalty box after being set up by Aryx Ismael’s pinpoint pass. Dolphins FC were caught off guard, allowing Castillo the space to deliver a stunning finish.

Alia FC quickly doubled their lead in the 16th minute. Dolphins’ defense failed to close down Acaylar, who capitalized on the space to extend the lead to 2-0.

Dolphins FC fought back before halftime when a scuffle in the box in the 44th minute allowed Erasga to poke in a scrappy goal, breathing life back into the game.
