From staying strong on the race to lead-authoring in IEEE! 🏆 Congratulations to our TS trooper on his latest research milestone. Keep inspiring us, Tito Keith!
𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 | The Research and Development Services Office (RDSO) warmly congratulates Engr. Keith Marlon R. Tabal for the successful publication of his research study, “Toward Non-Contact Snore Detection Using Video-Based Laryngeal Motion Analysis,” in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE Access), a journal indexed in Scopus (Q1) and Web of Science – Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), published on March 19, 2026.
The study introduces a proof-of-concept system for detecting snore events using audio-free RGB video by analyzing laryngeal motion. It combines advanced techniques such as Eulerian Video Magnification and optical flow analysis, supported by an adaptive detection mechanism to accurately identify snoring patterns. With a validated dataset and strong agreement supporting clinical plausibility of the ground truth, the system achieved high performance metrics, demonstrating its potential as a non-contact, privacy-preserving approach for sleep monitoring and health screening.
This achievement highlights CSPC’s strong commitment to research excellence and innovation, showcasing the dedication of its faculty researchers in producing meaningful, impactful studies that benefit both the institution and the global community.
We are proud of you!
