In every great event, there exists a special kind of people... the ones crazy enough to say “Yes, let’s do it.”
Because truth be told… even I hesitated at the beginning! 😅
The vision of Tuburan 360 Trailrun was bold. Monumental. Ambitious. And for a relatively young and admittedly inexperienced team like Crazy Mountain GORZ, the mountain ahead looked just as intimidating as the trails themselves.
But somehow... through grit, laughter, pressure, doubts, long nights, and impossible deadlines, this team proved that PASSION CAN OUTRUN EXPERIENCE.
To my core team:
Motet Fernandez, my Technical Race Director, brother, we built those routes step by step, climb by climb. You helped transform raw terrain into an experience that was meaningful, enjoyable, and above all, safe for every runner. The trails spoke because of your work.
Edlap Amistad, Event Coordinator and Communications — you were the nerve center of this race. Every station, every team, every volunteer moved in sync because you made communication seamless when chaos tried to creep in.
Cathy Densing Amistad, thank you for tirelessly liaising with the LGU, the Tuburan 360 team, and for piecing together critical information as we navigated unfamiliar ground, especially the politics side of it! Lol. You turned complexity into clarity when we needed it most.
To my brother, Engr. McBern Angle, Lead Logistics and our resident Excel wizard — operations ran like clockwork because of you. From scheduling, procurement of aid station supplies, to leading critical meetings, you carried the backbone of ex*****on. To making alsa the galons like it were just pillows!
To my Aux Ops warriors — Master Geojfy Lacion, Yoyo Noel Casinillo, Brì Mahinay, and Master Arce Soledad — thank you for the unquestioning support and fierce loyalty.... my Pretorians! You showed up, stepped up, and never backed down.
To our Forerunners, Gel Francis and Bryce — you ran ahead not for glory, but to make sure the path was ready for everyone else. Certified Kusgan!
To our Running Marshals — Doc Jeremy, Darell, Regena Taraya, Hazel, Elgnij Belle, and Gideon — thank you for watching over the runners with care and vigilance. You were the guardians of the trail.
To our incredibly patient Sweepers — Argeo, Orville, Jan Brandon, Anthony Bihag Pogi, and Ruby — thank you for embodying the true spirit of trailrunning: no runner left behind.
Ma’am Anne Agosto, our Head Incident Command and Zumba Instructor — your energy before gunstart ignited the entire field. You didn’t just warm up the runners… naka-sayaw gud apil ang race team! You set the tone for courage, fun, and unity before every category faced the mountain.
Choy Magsambol, Incident Command — your medical insights proved invaluable, especially during critical moments like the rescued runner. Your calm expertise reminded us that safety is always our highest finish line.
To our phenomenal Master of Ceremonies power couple, Al Fie and Cybele Carbonilla Guillermo — you didn’t just host the event; you transformed it into a celebration. You made sure the race felt like a festival, a reunion, a party for everyone who came home to Tuburan.
Special thanks to Jet Acido and Ruby for working magic on our social media initiatives, especially during the final stretch before registration closed. And to Orville Langga, whose creative talent brought life to our media designs and gave identity to our story.
To John Aquino, Technical Race Director of Dalaguete Crafified Trailfest — thank you for sharing your insights and helping refine critical route segments. Your experience helped elevate this race.
And to the heroes working tirelessly behind the scenes — race kit distribution, finisher shirts, gear checks, aid stations, logistics, and countless unseen acts of service — Nancy, my love Janice Lyn, Soo Angle, Khimshoo Yeng, Zarnie, Chef Andres Di-Ayon Angulo Jr., Sanie Boy, and Yanni Boy… salamat kaayo. You carried the details that allowed the magic to happen.
Lastly, to Henry Nadela, our lone GORZ registrant who ran his 16km and still managed to help the team at the finishline. Your kind and humble demeanor inspires us.
They say no man is an island — and this event proved it true. It took a village. A brotherhood. A family bound not by titles, but by purpose.
What we achieved together was not just a race.
It was history.
It was courage.
It was belief in something bigger than ourselves.
