Barangay Cayabu, Tanay, Rizal receives Galing Pook Seal and P300,000 from the Local Government Academy after being hailed as one of the Top 10 Awardees of the Galing Pook Awards 2022 with the program, “From Black to Green: Fishponds, Eco-Tourism, and Full-Employment”.

Out of the more than 300 entries submitted, the town’s entry was shortlisted and became part of the 18 finalists, and luckily, after a undergoing tedious deliberations from the panel, emerged as one of the 10 winners receiving the seal and cash incentive.

Receiving the award from the President of the Republic, His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., SILG Benhur Abalos, Senate President Migz Zubiri, Galing Pook Foundation Chair Mel Senen Sarmiento, and Sec. Zanaida Angping are Cayabu Chair Antonio Bolaños, Kagawad Marissa Finuliar, and Tanay Mayor Rafael A. Tanjuatco.

Galing Pook Awards aims to acknowledge smart, sustainable, and safe communities with innovative programs for local governance.
