This was the first question God asked humanity after the fall. Adam had sinned. He had disobeyed God. And now he was hiding. But instead of punishing him right away, God calls out — not in anger, but in love — “Where are you?”
This is not a question of location. God knew where Adam was physically. But He was asking, “Where are you in your heart? Where are you in our relationship? Why are you hiding from Me?”
