“Ngano mahal man inyong open play? Mao ra man ni per hour ang court. Then e divide2 dayun sa number of players - oh! Mao ra unta ni bayranan.”

“Dagkoa ginansya aning mga host uy”

But here’s the thing, to all fellow open play hosts… kabalo mo ani. 🫡🎾🥒
Yes, we can do the math:
Court fee ÷ number of players = ₱___
Easy.
BUT OPEN PLAY IS NOT JUST A COURT FEE. 👀
PICKLEBALLS ( bola sa pickle 🤣)
We provide the balls for everyone. And we all know pickleballs are not cheap. Every time they get cracked, damaged, or destroyed, the host replaces them. Familiar?
COURT BOOKING
Before you even collect from the players, the host has already paid for the court upfront. So the host takes the financial risk first especially when there are cancellations or slots that don’t get filled or mag tapal like for security deposits for some courts na ila gina require if regular sched ang club sa court somehow. Naa pa diay uban courts na d ka pwede maka book if dili ka member hunahunaa pila naaa hmmmmm
📣 FINDING PLAYERS
Who posts the open play? Who fills the slots? Who confirms everyone? Who follows up? Who deals with [cancellations and last-minute changes? (Applicable to some) ] Who thinks about the ideas for another gimmick to put a smile on your faces? ☺️ THE HOSTS!
The court doesn’t do that by the court itself, they need HOSTS😂
🔄 ORGANIZING EVERYTHING
Player count, rotations, court assignments, schedules, reminders, matchups WIN/LOSE STACKING! pairing you with someone you like if you guys hangyu which is honestly sometimes confusing if we touch the cue ( not a bad thing )
Someone has to do the work.
So yes, by all means use your math skills. 😂
But make sure you’re calculating the WHOLE COST, not just the court rental.
Because when you join an open play, you’re not simply paying for:
“₱___ court ÷ ___ players.”
You’re also paying for the balls, booking, convenience, coordination, time, effort, and responsibility that comes with having someone organize the whole thing for you and all you have to do is PLAY 😉
Math is important. But apparently, so is understanding what you’re actually paying for. HAHAHA 😂🫡
